This looks really interesting and perfect for many of us who like new ideas, passion, and short presentations. It’s next Wednesday the 25th in Tempe. A bit like surfing the web, but in person. Each presenter uses a slideshow format and has five minutes to present something about which they are excited.

groovy. I mean gravy.
Uhm. Gravy is awesome. You know it.
thanksgiving 08
The day after Thanksgiving we had a great time up in North Phoenix with Sean, Bekah, Bob, Rachel, Sean’s parents and Judah. Bob and Rachel recently had a baby-congrats! David played a bean bag game with Sean’s family and I took lots of pictures. On our way home, David and I dropped by Lola’s Tapas and had shrimp…mmm…by the way, they roast their own coffee!

google reader
So I wrote off using blog feeds a long time ago because I didn’t like not seeing the post in context of the website. But then I read a post that suggested using a feature of Google’s reader called “next.” You place it in your bookmarks, and click on it. It brings you to each updated post in the actual website. Then you click on “next” again, and it takes you to the next updated site. Awesome!
I used it for the first time today, and at the very end, this is the page it took me to. And this was the text:
The End of the Internet
Congratulations! This is the last page.
Thank you for visiting the End of the Internet. There are no more links.
You must now turn off your computer and go do something productive.
Go read a book, for pete’s sake.
saturday/knitters
tomorrow
work emails, saddle soap (apparently bad for leather, need to find suitable replacement), wash scooter, ULTA, lunch with Michelle (cancelled), call Joy S. (emailed), Doc Martens?, bruise wheel?, finish Deana’s painting, email Western Builders with invoice, fill out early ballot, chiropractic appointment (rescheduled), finish exterior paint repair, talk to Ida about someone else heading up the community garden…I think that’s it. Maybe.
coolidge
This morning, David and I got up early and met Joe and Cindy for a scooter ride to Coolidge. Well, David drove his car with Cindy in the passenger seat. Not everyone enjoys the ride. It was a busy trip down through the Queen Creek area–a lot of construction. It’s so weird to think people live in giant homes so far east of everything. I couldn’t believe there was so much out there. How do people commute so far each day?
We ate breakfast at a little dive called Tad’s. Mostly farmers, local business people, and cowboys inside. Coolidge is a town I could imagine Napolean Dynamite growing up in.
The drive back was nice too. We went through Sacaton then through Chandler. I did think we were going to eat some pavement with the crazy crosswinds we fought down and back, but we made it safely.
Whew.

it’s open
Well, the market finally opened. I think everything’s been going well. I am proud of the work that I’ve put into it. The retail area looks great; hopefully, the rest of my products will be in soon. I have photos on the wall across from the community board. Mine are the three on the left and the center one. In the second bathroom stall, about half of the photos are mine too.
It’s also been really cool getting to know the people that work there. I was also able to get two of my friends jobs at the espresso bar. And the food…mmm…
